Accountability?

It's Just Plain Wrong CIA spying on US Senate

Sometimes I read something that just irritates the hell out of me. Fox News reported on August 1st that the CIA was caught spying on Senators and their staff. Just to be clear what is happening the Executive Branch (President) has been caught spying on the Legislative Branch (Senate).

But that’s not what irritates me…

Those of us to the right of the political center have been screaming for years that the government is running amok. So the thought that the Executive Branch would feel the need to spy on Legislative Branch almost feels normal these days.

What irritates me is that once caught – there is no accountability for their actions.

Fox points out that CIA Director Brennan went to Capital Hill to apologize for the actions of his group. There has been an investigation and yes, it’s true it happen.

Yet the article states that…

“Brennan also has convened an accountability board that will investigate the conduct of the CIA officers and discipline them, if need be.”

Really, “if need be?” You must be kidding.

If you have ever needed proof of a government run amok – one branch getting caught spying on another branch then thinking no discipline may be needed is just WRONG.
